Albert Breer on Patriots’ Stefon Diggs Signing: Smart Gamble or Locker Room Trouble?

During this morning’s Toucher & Hardy, Albert Breer called the Patriots’ signing of Stefon Diggs a “worthwhile risk” since it wasn’t a franchise-defining move. He noted Diggs’ ultra-competitive nature, which caused issues in Buffalo and Minnesota but worked in Houston when he played a supporting role. The key concern is how Diggs will handle being the top option in a struggling Patriots offense, as frustration could arise if he’s not getting the ball enough. At 31 and coming off an ACL injury, he’s no longer a true No. 1 receiver, and unless the Patriots draft a top talent, their receiver room, as Fred Toucher put it, still “blows.”
